All of the major internet search engines provide no cost local business listings.  Whether you have a website or not, your local business listing is your ticket to expanding your customer base.  Once created, your listing is accessible to anyone with internet access; showing your location, map, directions, hours, phone number, business profile, and consumer reviews of your business.  Anyone searching for your type of business, or your name and city sees your business listing and it doesn’t cost you anything.

Your local business listing is the first thing that all of your potential customers will see on the internet.  It’s important that it be complete, accurate, and professional.  It needs to include information that 1) your customers are most likely to search for, and 2) that distinguishes your business from all of your competitors as the one they should buy from.  For this reason, it’s important that the content of your listing be well thought out and organized.

The process begins with the completion of a written or online business profile questionnaire.   It contains all of the information which the search engines will how concerning your business.  Upon receipt of your questionnaire and payment, TI will review your submission and call you to discuss our comments, suggestions, and concerns.  We’ll also tell you more about how the process works, what you can expect, and what help we need from you.

When we’re confident that everything is just right, we begin the process of listing your business on each of Google, Yahoo, Yelp and Bing/MSN. 

In order to complete the listings, we’re going to need your help.  Specifically, each of the search engines use a verification process to ensure that the person creating the listing is, in fact, the owner of the business.  This verification process includes a phone call from their servers to your main business number, at which time you must either enter or write-down a 4-5 digit number.  We’ll arrange a time with you when you know you’ll be at the main number to receive this call.

Bing/MSN uses a hardcopy letter mailed to your business address to verify your listing.  Because this letter can take two weeks or more to reach you, the Bing/MSN listing is always the last listing to go live.

Once the initial verification process is completed, we’ll enter all of the information from your questionnaire in each of the four sites and double check it for accuracy and completeness.  We’ll send you an email when we’re done letting you know how you can view each of listings.

All of the search engines have an internal review process wherein the information posted is reviewed to ensure that it complies with the policies of the search provider.  Once reviewed, your listing is live and ready for exposure.

We’ll send you another email about a week later once we’ve verified that all your listings are active and working. 

From that point on, the exposure that you get is entirely up to you.  We can’t and won’t guarantee you a #1 spot in all relevant search listings...only the search engines can do that.  But we do guarantee to get your business listed and to give you the tools to manage your own exposure through customer reviews, internet specials and coupons, periodic listing updates, etc. 

We even offer an optional annual maintenance agreement whereby for an additional $149 annually, we’ll post any updates you like as often as you like, to all of the search engines that host the information you’re changing/updating.
