ABOUT ME Technically Inclined is a sole proprietorship, owned and operated by Rich Wiebe. I have been a technology enthusiast in a big way since I wrote my first computer program on an Apple II computer in 1980. I studied computers in high school and college at Santa Clara University where I earned by BSC degree in Decision and Information Sciences in 1986. I began my professional career as a computer programmer in 1986 working for Tandem Computers in Cupertino, CA. After three years of programming I went to work for Apple Computer in 1989 as a software development project manager. At Apple, and various other technology firms thereafter, I managed dozens of projects for both internal IT (information technology) and external product development programs. I have always had a keen interest in technology and it’s “lifestyle” applications, specifically the use of technology to make life easier and more fun. I have personally wired two of my own homes for internet connectivity, both wired and wireless, telephony (IP and PBX), video distribution (CCTV, Tivo, Replay, Slingbox), audio distribution (multi-zone, multi-source audio in all rooms), and infrared distribution with universal remote controls. I attend the Consumer Electronics Show every year and read a wide variety of technology publications to keep up on the latest and greatest products and technologies. I consider myself a technology enthusiast with a tremendous amount of experience and a genuine desire to help others. I recognize that although technology comes easy to me, it can be very challenging for the non-technically inclined. That’s where I think I can offer valuable skills, experience, and insight. My wife and I have called Incline Village, NV home since 1999 and have loved every aspect of living here ever since. I’ve been helping dozens of friends and neighbors for my entire adult life. I enjoy helping people with technology and only recently came to the conclusion that I could do something I love for fun and profit.
